The King Kamehameha statue was previously displayed in National Statuary Hall, south of the Rotunda, in the Capitol where he was placed in a corner due to structural reasons.  In Emanicpation Hall the King is proudly displayed near the main entry way.  Each state is allowed two statues of prominent citizens.  Father Damien is our other statue representing the State of Hawaii.
